Not many has an access to sucessful people and ask for an advice. Plus they are always busy and not open for meeting and discussions with strangers which makes a connections much harder. With the lab anybody are able to get help from from business market professionals.  

This case is about how the list of business interviews became a selling consulting platform.

Challenges:
- New brand with its identity. Separate it from mother brand (Upside agency).
- How to connect busy professional with a customer?
- How make customer return?
- How to choose an expert?
- How to make customer share their feedbacks?
- Avoid of registration

This case is about how the request of Conde Nast selling department literally sounded like “let’s do anything to get more money” transformed to featured app with over 1 mln downloads.

My role was UX/UI Designer & product owner. I was responsible for the result. App interface, advertorial possibilities, generating new ideas for target audience and advertising partners, managing technical team and numbers. As much as possible. As always.

I was lucky to work with very professional technical team (lifetyping.com), Feeling grateful when remembering the process. Don’t thing the app became what it’s become without these guys. I was about ideas and design, they did integration and animation effects.

Although the main goal of the project was to attract advertisers I don’t like to see the case from this side. For me it sounded more like to do the best as possible to attract more people, advertising are the result of good product.

Fashionistas.
Need to get only what they like
Want to be first whenever possible.
Mobile addicted.
Travels a lot.
Angry when offline.

What TA expects from the app?

Wants to get information as fast as possible.
Simple search.
Big pictures.
What I like only.

Issue

People don’t know how to choose the expert they need.

The surveys we put in social media actually shows that most of potential customers don’t know how to choose the professional to get consulting from. The most popular criteria of selection was well-known.

Solution

UBL searches an expert to fit your problem.

Перед началом проекта была задача просто связать эксперта и потенциального покупателя надеясь на то, что покупатель может сам выбрать эксперта основываясь на его данных. Но сейчас сайт превратился в настоящий сервис по подбору экспертов.

issue

Placing orders when date of consulting is unknown.

The problem of making new connection between independent people are usualy hidden in time. The solution was two-way confirmation system.

When I start planing the project I was thinking to create a members-only area where you keep all your past and upcomming consultings etc. But then I realize that people won’t have a lot of records plus Another surver showed us

solution

Scheduling after payment. No registration needed.

72% of potential customers don’t like registration on websites. The page with unique HTTP address of meeting instead. Customers get the link just after placing order.

Issue

Return triggers

Before buying first consultation customer sees the discount for a next. Get a promo code for 50% discound just after buying a first consulting.

Testing

We were worried a lot about the payment process and consulting confirmation. ...... The target audience is absolutly the same as UBL experts.

Graphics

Branding and UI

The whole idea of graphics is the style of business documents. Lines and simple fonts. Tables. And the logo symbol displays is the mix of question mark and comma sign. Comma means not the end, business aspekts are always chaging and there’s no dot.

Learning

  1. Offline browsing is still the issue.
  2. It’s better to have lower options working perfectly then more options with bugs.
